What is a good book for a beginner learning Computer Science.?

I want to get into computer science, but I want to teach myself. Is there a book out there that introduces topics such as computer programming and how the internet works? I am very tech savvy.

look for ”for dummies” series, they are general at first but get into details as you read and thus are pretty good for learning the basics.
Then look for books made for certifications exams (A+, Network+, CISCO, Microsoft TCI/IP)
